Jet Carrying US Defense Secretary Forced to Touch Down in UK Due to Fracture in Windshield

A jet carrying the US defense secretary was forced to make an unplanned landing in the UK on Wednesday following a fracture was discovered in the plane's windshield, per an official statement which stated that all passengers were secure.

"The jet landed in accordance with established safety measures and all individuals on the flight, including Secretary Hegseth, is secure," a press officer commented in a online announcement.

Hegseth was returning from a brief trip to the Belgian capital at the time.

This occurrence is not the first occasion that a US military aircraft carrying a senior official has suffered technical problems.

In a previous incident this year, a US Air Force plane ferrying Marco Rubio to Munich was compelled to return to Washington DC after suffering a mechanical problem.
