Prolific children's author and entertainer David Walliams is no longer with his longtime publishing house, according to an announcement.

A spokesman for the company commented: "Upon deliberation, and following the appointment of its fresh leadership, HarperCollins UK will not be releasing any new titles by David Walliams."

It has been reported that the decision was taken subsequent to an inquiry regarding allegations of inappropriate behaviour involving female individuals.

The firm did not confirm the reasons for its decision, adding: "We do not comment on private personnel issues."

A Prolific Publishing History

Walliams stands as a most best-selling authors for kids, having sold more than 60 million copies internationally in 55 languages.

The debut children's novel from Walliams, *The Boy in the Dress*, was published by HarperCollins back in 2008.

A number of his works, for example *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have also been adapted into TV movies.

To date, he has released more than 40 books in total, including a festive story named *Santa & Son*, which was released through HarperCollins this past October.

A Dual Career

His initial claim to fame came on the television comedy show *Little Britain* and has additionally received National Television Awards for his duties as an arbiter on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He was made an OBE in 2017 for his services to charity and the arts.

This development follows the selection of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's new chief executive in October.
