🔗 Share this article The Streaming Platform is Developing a Popular Game TV Series from the Minds of the Alien Series and the Comedy Hit. The most recent Far Cry instalment that audiences dived into was Far Cry 6, that showcased Giancarlo Esposito in the role of the antagonist, Antón, and came out on October 6, 2021. Throughout the franchise, it has a reputation for delighting in action and insanity with the same excitement, all while presenting captivating, ideologically themed tales. No wonder then that FX's recent announcement for a Far Cry anthology series brought on board two visionaries whose creations have represented all of those things. What to Expect Inspired by Ubisoft's successful video game property, the short-run anthology series will stream on Hulu and is being made by FX Productions. The series will also follow the video games' format by having a new backdrop and cast of characters in every instalment. Executive Team Rob Mac, creator of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and Noah Hawley, the visionary behind FX's Alien: Earth and Fargo, will serve as lead producers on the series through their production banners, More Better Productions for Mac, and 26 Keys for Hawley. They will be accompanied by Emilia Serrano for 26 Keys, Nick Frenkel for 3 Arts, Jackie Cohn for More Better Productions, John Campisi, Gerard Guillemot, Margaret Boykin, and Austin Dill for Ubisoft Film & Television. “FX has had magnificent partnerships with Rob Mac and Noah Hawley for a combined six series and 32 seasons of television, and we are thrilled that they are working together for Far Cry,” said Nick Grad, President, FX Entertainment, in a news release. “I have no doubt that they will deliver this story in a way that is fresh, engrossing, and wildly entertaining. We also want to acknowledge our associates at Ubisoft for trusting us with this beloved property.” What’s Next Mac will also appear in the show, but currently, we do not know what character that may be. Hawley's Alien: Earth was just approved for more episodes, with FX and Disney signing a new comprehensive agreement with the producer. “Getting to work alongside Noah Hawley is a fantasy come true,” said Rob Mac. “Ubisoft has been incredibly generous, entrusting us with one of the most famous video-game universes ever created. And along the way, my FX family continues to lift me up with their ongoing belief and support.” “The aspect I admire about the Far Cry game series is that it’s an anthology-style show. Every title is a variation of a theme, the same way every series of Fargo is a adaptation on a theme,” explained Hawley. “To produce a large-scale action show that can evolve from season to season, while always delving into the core of humanity through this multifaceted and unpredictable viewpoint, is a dream come true. I’m eager to work with Rob and bring our shared unconventional, ambitious style to the audience.” A time frame for when we can expect the new Far Cry show has not yet been revealed. The series will premiere on Hulu in the United States and on Disney Plus in other regions.
